If you haven't taken a look at the Solar Framework in the past now is the time to do so as the three biggest complaints about Solar are on the road to be resolved.
1. Solar has been in perpetual alpha/beta forever..
The first check in for the Solar Framework was almost exactly 5 years ago, (2/15/10) so yes a release version of Solar has been a long time coming but the community has really grown since then and a lot of dedicate time has been put into making Solar what it is today.
2. Documentation, all the cool Frameworks have cool docs.
The docs for Solar Framework may not of been up to some peoples standards for a while now but docs are being focused on heavily now by a few core members of the team, you can see what the new docs will look at now at http://www.solarphp.com/manual/ and even compare them to the old docs at http://solarphp.org/manual. Granted they are a work in progress and are not complete yet but they are a big step in the right direction.
3. Examples, sometimes the easiest way to learn is to study a working application
Solar Framework has always had the basic hello world and other basic examples but has never had a full fledged app, this has changed and now Solar Framework comes with a full basic blogging application out of the box that you can look through to see working examples of how to do "crud" in Solar.
So if you have skipped Solar Framework in the past now is a great time to take another look and you might be surprised at what you find.
